INGEsuite

Screen

  • What types (model/vendor) of TV sets are fully supported by the system?
INGEsuite is suitable for any brand or model of TV Set, including those old CRT Tvs.
The Set-Top Box (STB) has different A/V output terminations, so the STB connects to the TV either via Scart, or RCA (composite), or jack (S-Video), or HDMI, etc.
  • Do we have to use 2 remotes, one for the TV set and another for the Set-Top Box?
No, INGEsuite just needs one remote control to control the TV Set and the Sytem.
  • Do INGEsuite Remotes controll any brand and model of TV sets?
Yes. All the different INGESuite remote controllers can be configured to control any model of TV Set. They include an internal Data Base with all the comands of all TV models, so the behaviour is the same as an universal remote.
  • Which model/vendor TVs are supported to have WelcomeScreeen , or to be opened/closed by reception remotely?
Any TV Set can be controlled from INGEsuite.
There are two types of TV Set Management:
    • a) Unidirectional: This type is valid for any model of TV Set. INGEsuite system sends an IR command to the TV Set which orders the TV Set to turn on at guest check-in, to turn on when wake up call arise, etc.
    • b) Bidirectional: This type of management is only valid for Interactive TV Sets, such as special models of Philips, LG or Samsung. In this case INGEsuite system sends an special comand to the TV Set via a TVI port, and the TV set answers to the STB by telling his status.
  • How does the STB control the TV set? (Switch on/off? If a message comes for the guest, is it immediately displayed on TV screen?)

The STB can control the TV Set in two ways, depending on the TV Set:
Common TV Set - Unidirectional way: The STB controls the TV Set by using an IR-blaster which send IR commands to the TV Set, working as a remote control. Thus, when the guest checks-in, the IR-blaster sends the IR command “Turn ON“, so the TV Sets turns on when receives that comand.
Note: All STBs can plug an IR-blaster.

Interactive Hotel Tvs - Bidirectional way: The STB controls the TV Set by using an special control port that connects to the TV Set through a Cat3 cable, and this cable is plugged in to an special control input in the rear side of the TV Set. Therefore, when the guest checks-in, the STB sends through the control port a “turning ON“ command received by the TV Set control input. Later, using the same communicationi, the STB could ask the TV Set about its status, and the TV set can reply through that interface telling either it is ON or OFF.
Note: Only STBs models Aminet 110H with TVI and Aminet 130H can connecto to the Interactive TV Display and perform the bidirectional control.

  • Does the Set-Top Boxs fit behind TV set? Which are the STB measurements?
Yes. The specific STB hospitality models (Aminet 110H (SD) and Aminet 130H (HD)) are specially designed to be attached to the rear side of the TV Set.
    The STBs measurements are:
    SD: 170 x 136 x 37 mm (w x d x h)
    HD: 190 x 134 x 36mm
  • Is there available a Remote jack pack-aux panel-Remote, to connect external devices such as DVD or Laptop, to the TV?
Yes. We do use the following external case for those purposes:
    link to pdf
  • Can the Bathroom Loudspeaker be controlled by the same remote?
If the Bathroom Loudspeaker goes with the audio control of the TV Set, then, if the bathroon integrates a volume controller via IR commands (IR receiver), the INGEsuite remote controller could also control Bathroom Loudspeakers.

It could be solved by using an optical connection between the switches.
  • Can we connect IP Phones to the secondary port of the Aminet 110H or 130H?
Yes. Both the Aminet 110H and the Aminet 130H has a built-in switch with QoS functionality, then, the IP Phone could be plugged to that secondary ethernet port.
  • How many video streams can you provide with one server in parallel at the same time?

The Video On Demand Server (OnD3mand), provides 2 x 1GB Ethernet interface for Video Streaming
Our server is currently streaming movies at 4Mbps in SD (MPEG-2) and 8Mbps in HD (MPEG-4 H.264)

So, theoretically we can serve 500 clients in SD and 250 in HD but, due to some other data exchange and in order to have a security factor, we say 400 and 200 respectively

  • What capacity do you recommend for 1.000 rooms Hotel?

There is no problem in serving our application to 1.000 rooms using just one server.
The limit of concurrent users must be calculated according to the number of users watching a movie at the same time. TV load is not server dependent.

Each hotel should require a case study (even more for the network/switches infrastructure) but, from a general perspective, our configuration is ready for 200 video clients.

This is 20% of a 1.000 rooms hotel.

So, regarding your questions, our configuration is enough for a 1.000 rooms hotel if the 20% of concurrent users (200 guests watching a movie at the same time) is acceptable.

You should request (or agree with them) this figure: number of concurrent guests requesting a movie that is required.

Nevertheless, It is always available the possibility to add more Video on Demand servers.

  • It is possible to pause the movie while you are watching it, to continue later at the same possition?
Yes. Not only that, the user can pause several movies, and continue exactly where it was paused, whichever.

Yes. There's an special tool within INGEsuite for Housekeeping. Hotel staff can easily indicate room status or accessories status.
  • Payment for mini bar services
Yes. The cleaning staff can check easily if a guest has consumed any drink and mark it through INGEsuite, so the consumption goes directly to guest's invoice.
  • Interface to guest room control (Thermostat, lighting, energy saving) - is this included?
It is not included by default. As part of our interface we can include a link to an html/xml page that most of these controls offer. If it is ready to be managed through a remote (keys instead of mouse) there will be no problem to include it.
  • Is there a System logging printer or an Orders printer?
